Patrick N. Ward

Partner, Chief Strategic Officer

In his role as Chief Strategic Officer, Patrick counsels the firm's clients on key communications issues, working closely with C-level executives on the impact communications can have on their business. He is also responsible for the general direction of the firm's entire account portfolio and is the architect of 104 West Partners' proprietary strategic methodology.

Patrick has communicated ideas and influenced opinions and customer buying habits for nearly 25 years. He has helped Fortune 50 companies launch category-building product lines. He has re-positioned young start-ups from broad consumer service models to focused business software application vendors. He has changed the market rules for moribund brands and transformed them into award-winners. He has taken new companies with new ideas and engineered market acceptance and category leadership.

He has worked on and guided the launches of now well-established technology categories, including color inkjet printing, consumer digital photography, personal storage, e-commerce software, corporate portal software, web services management and service-oriented architecture software, lifestyle software for mobile phones and anti-spyware software. He has worked with leading CEOs, serial entrepreneurs, household brands, and esoteric technologies, Fortune 50 companies and companies with just an idea. His strategic counsel has shaped directions, altered paths and ultimately changed the ways companies are viewed and view themselves.

Patrick's career has been shaped by work in major agencies in New York City and Silicon Valley, as well as a stint in a bubble-era technology start-up. He has worked with leading technology companies as well as counseled some of the industry's leading CEOs, including Trip Hawkins, founder of Electronic Arts, John Sculley, former president of Pepsico and CEO Apple Computer, Eckhart Pfeiffer, former CEO of Compaq Computer, Perry Evans, founder of MapQuest, Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari and creator of Pong, and Jeremy Jaech, founder of Visio and Aldus. Patrick founded 104 West Partners in 2003 with the vision of creating an agency that served new ideas with a keen focus on providing actionable strategy, superior results and outstanding client service. In less than four years, 104 West Partners has grown into the largest technology PR agency in the Rocky Mountain region and is nationally respected by clients, journalists and competitors alike.

Patrick holds an A.B. degree from Columbia University in New York City.
